Brush Strokes is indeed a photograph of a white and black banner. I overexposed the shot to try and whiten up the background. I then added contrast in Photoshop to create an almost painting or calligraphy feel even though the original is a photograph. I really like the flow of the brush strokes here. These Kanji Characters are very cool.
